09 Feb HCCC hosts 35th MRA Convention
Holy Cross College of Calinan, Inc. (HCCC) hosts the 35th Marie Rivier Associates (MRA) Convention 2019. The MRA Convention with the theme “MRA and Youth: Companions in the Journey towards Communion is scheduled on February 8-9, 2019 at the HCCC School Campus. MRA delegates and youth participants come from the different Presentation of Mary schools in Mindanao and the Visayas.
Series of spiritual as well as cultural activities will color the convention consequently knowing one another and celebrating oneness of purpose and mission. The annual convention is really a socio-spiritual gathering of wonderful souls and spirits and energy.
About 500 MRAs and more than a hundred youth delegates come from Calinan, Mintal, Catalunan, Toril, Mlang, Malalag, Padada, Malita, Sta. Maria, Basiawan, Boronggan, and Bohol.
After the preliminaries on the first day of the convention, the day will be capped with a liturgy and bonfire ceremony dubbed as: Marie Rivier’s Heart on Fire for the Youth”. This symbolic ritual of lighting the big candle from the Bon Fire, passing the light to the PM Sisters, to the MRAs and finally to the youth depicts each one’s role and mission of evangelization that springs from our Lord Jesus Christ.
The festive two-day convention will feature the acceptance of new members and the renewal of commitment of current members who are favored with the call to share in the spirituality of the PM Sisters.
The Marie Rivier Associates (MRA) is the extended family of the Presentation of Mary Sisters that helps in bringing the fire of knowledge and love of Jesus Christ everywhere. It provides an opportunity for women and men to share in the spirituality and mission of the PM Sisters in accordance to the spirit of their Blessed Foundress Marie Rivier.
